It’s been a couple of months since we (mostly Esha) relaunched Ensemble Tramontana and we’re still in the process of figuring out what to do with our new website, and then how to do it. We’re also busy designing and organising our upcoming April performances and laying the groundwork for performances further down the road – we’ll get back to that.
Amidst all that researching and figuring out and experimenting, it’s been hard to find the time to reflect on our previous project: our relaunch performance, Parlement of Foules. Indeed, it’s hard to believe it was more than a month and a half ago.
That was also a very busy and intense period of figuring out and experimenting, so there’s a lot to reflect on. Which will come eventually, but first of all we’d like to give our long overdue thanks to everyone involved:
- The performers (as odd as it is to thank ourselves, sometimes it’s important to do so):
- Louise, who is always a pleasure to work with and sang beautifully while still not fully recovered from a bad flu
- Amanda, who rushed from her studies on the other side of London to perform and provided valuable insights and a fresh perspective in rehearsals and the later stages of preparation
- Allan, who joined us from Sweden and was great help in arranging some of the pieces from lute tablature
- Esha, who got the process started and hosted the rehearsals
- and Eszter, who designed the programme
- Our enthusiastic hosts, first The Dragon Café and then one evening later a friend who used to host private house concerts – this was a relaunch for him as well!
- Our friends who helped with rehearsals, transport, hospitality, photography, recording both performances with meticulous attention to detail – and moral support
- Our very appreciative audiences!
